GEMAK: Exhibition centre and discussion platform in the Vrije Academie
In 2007, GEMAK started out as a collaboration between the Vrije Academie and the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag. Current developments in the arts, the political and social debate and the connections between these factors take centre stage at Gemak. This is achieved not only by exhibiting art, but also by organizing lectures and debates that are open to the general public. Gemak's exhibition space is on the ground floor of the Vrije Academie.

DNA EXHIBITION
From Saturday 11 until Saturday 25 September 2010 the GEMAK exhibition space will show work by the artists that worked in the DNA studios during the first half of 2010. These artists are: Klaas Bijl, Mil Ceulemans, Laura van Eeden, Diederick Hees, Terrence Letiche, Robbert Pauwels, Amir Tirandaz, Obbe Tiddens, Tjeerd Vrielink, Lenny Waasdorp, Lars Weller and Vera Witleer.
For this exhibition, art historian and gallery owner Fred Wagemans has been asked to function as Curator-in-Residence.
